Salt River Roofing

Roofing in Jackson Hole and Teton County

We come up US-89 from our shop in Afton, through Alpine and the Snake River Canyon, to roof homes and buildings in Jackson, Wilson and Teton Village. Same crew, same shop-bent trim, same written bid after a visit to the roof.

What gets built here

Standing seam metal is the workhorse, for the same reason it is in Star Valley: snow slides off it, and there are no exposed screws to back out after a few winters.

Synthetic slate and synthetic shake are common on Jackson Hole homes. They give the look of stone or cedar with better impact resistance and none of the splitting or rot, which matters on a roof that sits under snow for months.

Why Teton County roofs cost more

The same roof usually costs more in Jackson and Teton County than in Star Valley. Travel, access on tight lots, steeper and more complicated roofs, and the higher-end materials many owners choose all push the number up.

If you want a rough range before anyone visits, the cost estimator on the home page has a Jackson / Teton County setting that adds about 18 percent for that. It is a planning number, not our price list.

Snow where people walk

Entries, decks, garage doors and walkways under a long metal run are where a sliding slab does real damage. Snow rails break the snowpack into pieces that melt off in place, and we fit them to roofs we built and roofs we did not.

Questions we get about this

Do you really come up to Jackson from Afton?

Yes. Jackson, Wilson, Teton Village and the rest of Teton County are part of our regular service area, not an occasional job.

Can you match the roof to a neighborhood's design rules?

Tell us about any HOA or subdivision rules on color and material before the bid, and we will price a roof that meets them. If you have the rules in writing, send them with your request.

Synthetic slate or standing seam for a Jackson home?

Both handle snow country well. Standing seam sheds snow fastest and usually costs a little less per square foot; synthetic slate is chosen for its look and impact resistance. We are happy to price both on the same bid.

For a Teton County roof, the bid still starts with a free visit.
